After many months of preparation, I decided to go to Dublin in Ireland for 2 weeks. I took the plane at the Saint-Exupéry airport in Lyon then I landed at the Dublin airport after 1h30 of flight. Upon arrival, a taxi was waiting for me and dropped me off at my host family’s house.
So, I met my family who was very nice. I shared my room with a girl of Italian origin, Gaïa, who also went with CES. That afternoon, as she had arrived a few weeks before, we went to see the surroundings. Indeed, the house was a few steps away from Phoenix Park in which is located the Dublin Zoo, the Wellington Testimonial and the Aras an Uachtarain (the president’s residence).
During my stay I was able to learn academically speaking thanks to the classes that were held every morning from 9am to 1pm, but I also discovered new cultures. Indeed, I was not only immersed in the Irish culture, but also through my numerous meetings with classmates or people I met during my stay, I was able to discover people of different origins such as Italians, Brazilians, Koreans, Belgians...
Thanks to this, I made a lot of progress in English since it was our only common language to communicate. It was a real challenge for me as I didn’t dare to speak English in public but after a day spent there the fear disappeared, everyone is there to learn and no one judges !
There are many activities to do, I was able to visit museums, gardens, the port of House Harbour, as well as different beaches, the Dublin Zoo, and the city center of Dublin which is very lively !
This stay enriched me enormously, both in terms of my English and in human terms. There is nothing better than going to an English-speaking country to improve your English ! This experience made me grow and allowed me to improve my English enough to enter a business school after my baccalaureate where I was able to join a program where the courses are 100% in English.
I would like to thank CES for the follow-up, as well as Mr. Mitchell who was very present in all my steps !
