PHD / Doctorate
The PhD is a doctoral degree, specifically called a “doctor of philosophy” degree. It can confusing because PhD students are rarely philosophers. PhD students are from many disciplines and the all should be able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.
The PhD is awarded in all disciplines. Typically it requires several years of study post Master’s Degree. Depending on the discipline the number of years needed to complete a PhD can vary. Some Doctoral programs in some disciplines like in Business Administration (DBA) do not award a PhD. Yet recipient will still have the title of Doctor.
We need to match the University with your research project in order to apply to the right University with adequate academic supervisors.
